About Company

Six Rivers Africa (SRA) is a Tanzanian-based non-profit conservation organization dedicated to protecting and restoring biodiversity in Southern Tanzania’s wetlands and former hunting zones. Their mission is to understand, protect, and promote biodiversity in these critical ecosystems, which are increasingly threatened by poaching, deforestation, and human-wildlife conflict.

🌍 About Six Rivers Africa

SRA operates under the broader Six Rivers Foundation, supported by philanthropist Sir Jim Ratcliffe, and is led by CEO Brandon Kemp. Their conservation efforts are focused on key wilderness areas including Nyerere National Park (formerly Selous Game Reserve), Ruaha National Park, Usangu, and Kilombero. These regions are home to significant populations of elephants, wild dogs, lions, and other endangered species.

🛡️ Core Activities

  • Anti-Poaching Support: Providing aerial surveillance, ranger training, and logistical support to the Tanzania National Parks Authority (TANAPA) to combat poaching.

  • Wildlife Research: Collaborating with TANAPA and the Tanzania Wildlife Research Institute (TAWIRI) on wildlife collaring and monitoring programs to study species movements and mitigate human-wildlife conflicts.

  • Community Engagement: Building schools, offering vocational training (e.g., guiding, hospitality), and creating employment opportunities to foster local stewardship of natural resources.

  • Infrastructure Development: Funding projects like the construction of an airstrip in Ruaha National Park to enhance conservation logistics and promote eco-tourism.
