Technical Basis
The framework is built on OPC UA (Open Platform Communications Unified Architecture), using companion specifications that define consistent data models for machinery.
Scope and Adoption
umati applies to a wide range of machinery, including machine tools, robotics, plastics and rubber machinery, and measurement systems. It is supported by industry associations and manufacturers worldwide.
Activities
Development of companion specifications for different machine types
Testing and certification to ensure secure and interoperable implementations
Demonstrations at trade fairs to showcase plug-and-play interoperability across different vendors
Benefits
