K-FINANCE is a privately-owned microfinance institution in Tanzania. It was founded in 2008 and is a licensed financial services company. The company’s main objective is to provide financial solutions to individuals and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that may not have access to services from traditional banks.

History and Mission

K-FINANCE was the brainchild of its founder, Mrs. Devotha Minzi, a professional economist who left her career at the Bank of Tanzania with the goal of supporting a more vibrant private sector. Her vision was inspired by the work of Mohammed Yunus, the founder of the microfinance movement. She aimed to create an institution that would provide not only loans but also business and entrepreneurship training to help individuals and enterprises grow.

Services

The company’s services are built on a blended approach of micro-lending and training.

• Credit Lending: K-FINANCE offers a variety of loan products tailored to the needs of its customers, including loans for businesses and salaried employees.
• Insurance Brokering: Through a subsidiary, K-Finance Insurance Brokers, the company also provides both life and non-life insurance services to help clients mitigate risks.
• Training: K-FINANCE offers a unique training program called “Ignite Business Clinic” to its stakeholders, focusing on financial literacy and personal financial planning.

Operations

K-FINANCE is headquartered in Dar es Salaam and has a branch in Dodoma. The company has been licensed by the Bank of Tanzania since 2021 and has been working to digitize its operations to become a paperless institution by 2025. It aims to be a financial services institution of choice in Tanzania by focusing on customer needs, integrity, and efficiency. 

Senior Credit Relationship Officer – Dar es salaam 

Educational background:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field.

Professional Experience:

• 3+ years in Financial services or Banking with a focus on credit analysis, loan underwriting, Sales and Marketing, or Risk Management.
• Proven track record in managing a credit portfolio and making sound lending decisions.

Technical & Analytical skills:

• Strong ability to interpret financial statements, perform cash flow analysis, and evaluate creditworthiness.
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance and up-to-date knowledge of market trends and institutional products and services.

Soft skills:

• Excellent Communication and negotiation skills.
• High attention to detail, integrity, and organizational ability.
• Ability to work in a team setting.
