Project Manager

Job Purpose
The Project Manager serves as the owner and primary leader for high-value company projects. This role is responsible for driving the project’s financial alignment with strategic goals, rigorously overseeing all planning, governance, risk, quality, and health & safety standards to ensure compliant and successful project delivery.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be accountable for the full project lifecycle, focusing on four key areas:
1. Project Ownership and Financial Management
- Business Case Integrity: Own the project’s business case, ensuring its associated financial integrity is robust and fully aligned with the company’s strategic plan.
- Feasibility Analysis: Rigorously analyze all possible options and alternatives for the project, ensuring the selection of the optimal path is based on a thorough understanding of all alternatives.
- Scheduling: Develop and manage a robust project schedule based on the stage-gate process to facilitate effective financial and commercial project management that maximizes business value.
2. Leadership and Team Management
- Team Selection: Select and appoint appropriate project teams, including internal staff and external third-party contractors.
- Leadership and Motivation: Lead, develop, and motivate project teams throughout the entire project lifecycle.
- Contract Management: Oversee contract development and execution, including the effective management of third-party relationships.
3. Governance and Risk Control
- Corporate Governance: Manage adherence to corporate project governance procedures and processes to ensure appropriate management controls are in place and projects are delivered according to plan.
- Risk Management: Implement an appropriate risk management process to ensure all foreseeable significant risks are identified, analyzed, and proactively managed.
4. Quality, Health, and Safety (H&S)
- Quality Assurance: Implement an appropriate quality management system to ensure that all project outputs meet key stakeholder requirements.
- H&S Responsibility: Provide decisive health and safety (H&S) leadership for the project team(s) and assume full responsibility for all H&S aspects associated with the project.
Job Qualification and Experience
| Category | Requirement |
| Education | Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent (Engineering background preferred). |
| Experience | Minimum 4 years relevant working experience. |
| Project Management | APMP Certificate in Project Management (or equivalent). |
| H&S Certification | NEBOSH General Certificate in Health & Safety and/or Construction Safety (or equivalent). |
| Knowledge | Detailed knowledge of capital process and systems and familiarity with industry standard contract forms. |
