PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

The purpose of this role is to operate a low bed to support of mining operations by transporting earth slow moving equipment’s and materials using a specialized low-bed trailer, ensuring safe loading and unloading procedures, and adhering to strict safety regulations and communication protocols.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Completion of Secondary School Education.
NIT Certificate
The incumbent must have a valid Tanzanian driving license class C, D, E & F.

EXPERIENCE:

A minimum of 5 years of working experience in Mining or related fields.

MAIN OR KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Take reasonable care to protect his or her health and safety, and that of other people who may be affected by any act or omission thereof during performance of duty.
Safely maneuvering the low-bed truck within the mine site, including navigating ramps, curves, and other obstacles.
Securely loading and unloading heavy equipment, materials, or machinery onto and off the low-bed trailer, ensuring proper balance and stability
Transporting loaded cargo to and from various locations within the mine site, following designated routes and communication protocols.
Conducting pre-operational and post-operational safety inspections on the low-bed truck and its equipment, reporting any defects or concerns to the supervisor.
Maintaining effective communication with dispatchers, other operators, and supervisors using two-way radios or other communication devices.
Be proactive in all aspects of operational safety and work as team member within the mining department.
Perform safety pre-start checks on equipment.
Report faults in equipment timeously to supervisor or dispatch.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

The ability to operate and maintain low bed safely and efficiently.
Knowledge of mining safety regulations and procedures.
Strong attention to detail and awareness of surroundings.
Ability to perform basic vehicle inspections.
Ability to follow instructions and work under minimal supervision.
Physical stamina and endurance.
