Senior Accountant (Zanzibar)

Descriptions

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to manage financial records, ensure compliance with regulations, and support strategic financial planning. The ideal candidate will play a key role in maintaining the company’s financial health while supporting operations in a fast-growing, sustainability-focused agribusiness environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
  • Ensure compliance with local tax laws and financial regulations
  • Conduct financial analysis to support business decisions
  • Reconcile bank statements and monitor financial transactions
  • Assist with audits and liaise with external auditors
  • Maintain proper documentation of financial records
  • Support payroll processing and statutory deductions
  • Improve and maintain internal financial controls

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant accounting experience
  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant) qualification is required
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards
  • Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar)
  • Familiarity with Tanzanian/Zanzibar tax regulations is an added advantage
