Geofields Tanzania Limited (GTL): Senior Mining Engineer Position - March 2025

Geofields Tanzania Limited (GTL) is a multidisciplinary strategic service company specializing in drilling services, ground exploration survey works, mining equipment supply, and mining ventures. Established in 2008, Geofields is Tanzania's leading exploration and mining service company with an integrated and comprehensive service portfolio. Geofields operates in a joint venture with African Underground Mining Services (AUMS), conducting underground operations at Geita Gold Mine (GGM) in Tanzania.

Minimum Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years site-based experience in a mining environment.
• Knowledge in designing and optimizing open pit/underground mine projects.
• Demonstrated experience in an assistance management role in high-productivity underground contracting environments.
• Ability to manage mining costs and oversee equipment and human resource capability and productivities.
• Proficiency with MinRep, Deswick, and Surpac, and the ability to design and implement relevant templates for reporting and recording.
• Experience with production monitoring and monthly performance reporting.
• Ability to work independently and apply established standards.
• Membership in a relevant professional body.
• Must hold a valid Tanzania Driver's License.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist with technical mining issues on-site/off-site and interpret mining physicals and site costs.
• Communicate with employees and client site management, ensuring mining physicals are achieved as per contract/client schedules.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, including the correct use of safety devices and protective equipment, and report hazardous situations.
• Ensure mining contract management, including variations and management plans, ensuring company compliance.
• Implement cost reduction initiatives and ensure a favorable relationship with the client.
• Prepare monthly mining progress claims and present them on time to clients.
• Train and mentor graduate and vocational engineers.
• Perform pre-start checks and ensure client requirements are met contractually.
