NEW JOB OPPORTUNITY AT SHANTA MINING   WE’RE HIRING: SENIOR PLANT METALLURGIST Location: Singida Gold Mine, Work Schedule: 42 Days On / 21 Days Off Accommodation: Camp Reports To: Process Plant Superintendent Role Overview This role ensures that plant operations are run efficiently while achieving optimal metallurgical performance. The incumbent will be responsible for process monitoring, optimization, metallurgical accounting, reagent management, and continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities 1. Safety & Compliance Ensure adherence to safety, health, and environmental regulations. Conduct risk assessments and enforce compliance. 2. Process Optimization & Performance Monitoring Crushing & Milling: Ensure proper crusher settings and monitor grinding circuit performance. Leaching & Adsorption: Optimize Carbon-in-Leach (CIL) parameters to achieve maximum gold recovery. Elution & Electrowinning: Control and optimize elution efficiency to enhance gold stripping. Gravity Recovery: Improve Knelson concentrator and Acacia reactor performance for higher gravity gold recovery. Tailing Storage Facility (TSF): Provide technical guidance to ensure efficient tailings disposal and compliance with environmental standards. 3. Metallurgical Accounting & Reporting Maintain accurate metallurgical records and reconciliations. Prepare and analyze process reports. 4. Reagent & Water Management Optimize reagent usage and ensure cyanide compliance. Manage plant water balance efficiently. 5. Continuous Improvement & Test Work Identify process inefficiencies and develop test work programs for optimization. Conduct metallurgical test work to improve recovery rates and plant performance. Implement innovative solutions for reducing operational costs while maintaining high metallurgical efficiency. 6. Cost Control & Budgeting Develop cost-effective strategies to reduce reagent and operational expenses. Ensure that plant metallurgical operations remain within approved budget limits. Track and analyze production costs, making recommendations for savings. 7. Leadership & Training Mentor and train junior metallurgists and plant operators. Foster a culture of accountability and technical excellence.
