Job Title: Safari Sales Specialist Location: East Africa (Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda) – Remote or Office-Based Industry: Tourism & Hospitality (Luxury & Mid-range Safari Travel) Job Summary: The Safari Sales Specialist is responsible for selling tailor-made safari experiences to clients, handling inquiries, designing itineraries, and ensuring seamless travel experiences. This role requires in-depth knowledge of East African safari destinations, excellent customer service skills, and a strong sales-driven approach. Key Responsibilities:
  1. Sales & Client Engagement:
  • Respond to inquiries via email, phone, and online platforms, converting leads into confirmed bookings.
  • Understand client preferences, budgets, and expectations to create customized safari itineraries.
  • Maintain excellent client relationships and provide pre- and post-trip support.
  • Upsell additional services (e.g., hot air balloon rides, cultural visits, luxury upgrades).
  • Follow up on client leads and track sales conversions.
 
  1. Safari Itinerary Design & Consultation:
  • Craft personalized safari packages, including accommodation, transport, activities, and special requests.
  • Provide expert advice on the best destinations, wildlife seasons, and travel logistics.
  • Collaborate with lodge operators, tour guides, and transport providers for seamless arrangements.
  • Stay updated on new safari destinations, lodges, and experiences.
 
  1. Booking & Logistics Coordination:
  • Confirm bookings with lodges, camps, and transport providers.
  • Arrange flights, transfers, permits, and park fees as required.
  • Handle client documentation, including visas, travel insurance, and health requirements.
  1. Administrative & Reporting Tasks:
  • Maintain accurate records of client bookings and payments.
  • Prepare sales reports and analyze performance metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2+ years in safari sales, travel consultancy, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of East African safari destinations (Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda).
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) in English; additional languages (French, German, or Spanish) are a plus.
  • Experience using booking systems and CRM software.
  • Sales-driven mindset with a customer-centric approach.
  • Ability to work independently and meet sales targets.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Experience:
  • Experience working in a travel agency or tour operator specializing in East African safaris.
  • Familiarity with luxury safari lodges, mobile camps, and conservation-focused travel.
  • Knowledge of visa, travel insurance, and health requirements for East African travelers.
Salary & Benefits:
  • Competitive base salary with commission on bookings; Net Salary: TZS 1,350,000 (take-home salary; all taxes covered by the company).

Working Conditions
  • Location: Shadows of Africa Tanzania office, Arusha (Sable Square).
  • Working Hours:
o          Monday – Friday: 09:00 AM – 05:00 PM EAT o          Saturday: 09:00 AM – 01:00 PM EAT
  • Due to the nature of the business, urgent matters may arise outside standard working hours and will need to be addressed promptly.
  • Holidays are provided in accordance with Tanzanian labor laws.
